I started this series with book five, Cole's Redemption, and enjoyed it so much I've started over at the beginning with this book.

Shifters books always appeal to me and so do military books which makes this one a total win.  Navy seals that were bitten while deployed in Afghanistan.  Mix their new shifter abilities with the psy ones they already had and you have the go to group for dealing with the paranormal.  It's an interesting world that I quickly loved.

The story is spiraling as it ends up where it started and expands from there.  It had me thinking, trying to figure out what was going on and how everything fit together.  I enjoy those kinds of books a lot.  Mixed in with the mystery of what is really going on is the bonding issue that needs to be settled between Jaxon and Kira.  The author does a good job of weaving both pieces together.

I liked both main characters.  Jaxon is a tough guy that's been through a lot.  He struggles with an injury and questions his ability to still be part of the team.  He has no desire for a mate and tries his hardest to not be drawn to Kira but the draw is there and he can't resist it.  The idea of mates and that pull between them always makes me happy.  I enjoy them resisting and then figuring out that the other one makes them the happiest they can be.  Just makes me smile.  As for Kira, she's a daring, strong women who takes risks for things she believes in.  Her questions about her employer led her to some important finding.  I was pretty proud of her stubborn tenacity.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story.  It filled in the overarching story line for me after jumping into this one mid-series.  I'm definitely reading on with this series.
