Losing people you love is hard.

Aurora De La Torre knows moving back to a place that was once home isn’t going to be easy.

Starting your whole life over probably isn’t supposed to be.

But a small town in the mountains might be the perfect remedy for a broken heart.

Checking out her landlord across the driveway just might cure it too.

Teaser...

"You know, you keep on being nice to me, and I'm going to think you like me."

That big body stopped right where he was and one gray eye was on me over his shoulder as he asked in that rough, serious voice, "Who says I don't like you?"

Aurora and Rhodes are the best, and I love this book so much! It is 100% for sure going to make my 2021 favorites.

In the spirit of Come With Me, this timely and charming tale about mask-wearing follows a little girl and her generous plan to find her own courage by helping those in her neighborhood find theirs.

In a changing world, little Sophie is feeling a bit worried. She loves being outside and playing with her friends in her neighborhood. But going outside lately means wearing a mask—something Sophie is still trying to understand. It makes her nervous when she wants to be brave. And after taking a closer look outside her window, watching her neighbors adjusting to this new normal, she realizes she isn’t the only one who feels a little scared.

Which gives Sophie an idea. With her grandpa’s help, she does something special for the people in her neighborhood. When Sophie sees her small acts of kindness spread, she realizes that with the help of friends in our communities, anyone can find their courage—and their smile.

"I promise you the bigger threat will be me if you don't get out of my way," I replied evenly.

Now released for the first time as a standalone e-story, House of the Rising Son, previously published in the Dark Bites story collection from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Sherrilyn Kenyon.

The eldest son in a family of three boys, Aricles had no desire to be a soldier, even though his fighting skills were among the best in the world. He was more than content on his small Atlantean farm, living a quiet, uneventful life. But when his brother is determined to don a soldier’s uniform, Aricles joins him with a promise to their father to bring his brother home in one piece. What he never counts on is how much their new lives will forever change them, or what the risk of a forbidden love will ultimately cost him.

Teaser...

"...If something were to happen to you..." Tears welled in his eyes before he quickly blinked them away.  "I'd have to grow up and that's the last thing I want to do."
Smiling, Aricles hugged him close then kissed his head.  "Fear not, little brother.  I shall be here for quite some time to annoy you."
"You better be.  Otherwise, I'll have to follow you to Kalosis and beat the shit out of you." (Kindle location 628)

Yeah, I enjoyed this banter between bothers.  This story is a novella in a great series.  By itself, it was such a sad story.  I'm hoping the next book for these two will be kinder to them.  I am enjoying all the books in this series though.

A Maiden…

Chosen from birth to usher in a new era, Poppy’s life has never been her own. The life of the Maiden is solitary. Never to be touched. Never to be looked upon. Never to be spoken to. Never to experience pleasure. Waiting for the day of her Ascension, she would rather be with the guards, fighting back the evil that took her family, than preparing to be found worthy by the gods. But the choice has never been hers.

A Duty…

The entire kingdom’s future rests on Poppy’s shoulders, something she’s not even quite sure she wants for herself. Because a Maiden has a heart. And a soul. And longing. And when Hawke, a golden-eyed guard honor bound to ensure her Ascension, enters her life, destiny and duty become tangled with desire and need. He incites her anger, makes her question everything she believes in, and tempts her with the forbidden.

A Kingdom…

Forsaken by the gods and feared by mortals, a fallen kingdom is rising once more, determined to take back what they believe is theirs through violence and vengeance. And as the shadow of those cursed draws closer, the line between what is forbidden and what is right becomes blurred. Poppy is not only on the verge of losing her heart and being found unworthy by the gods, but also her life when every blood-soaked thread that holds her world together begins to unravel.

“With my sword and with my life, I vow to keep you safe, Penellaphe,” he spoke, voice deep and smooth, reminding me of rich, decadent chocolate. “From this moment until the last moment, I am yours.”

Have you read this series?  Book three will be available April 20 and you so need to be ready for it!  Love this series and this author.

Ruby Santos knew exactly what she was getting herself into when she signed up to write a soldier overseas.

The guidelines were simple: one letter or email a week for the length of his or her deployment. Care packages were optional.

Been there, done that. She thought she knew what to expect.

What she didn’t count on was falling in love with the guy.

Teaser...

He was kneeling in front of the bed, his suitcase wide open as he rummaged through it, but the moment I spoke, he stopped what he was doing and glanced over, smiling easily. "You okay?"

"Yes," I said, pushing the door open wider. "Can I come in?"

"You don't have to ask, Rubes," he said in a chiding tone. "Like I'd ever tell you I don't want to see you."

I feel like I appreciate this book more and more with time. Ruby and Aaron's relationship is so genuine and sweet. I love them.

Channon (Shannon with C) MacRea has spent years studying the legendary Dragon Tapestry, deciphering Old English symbolism. One evening delectable Sebastian Kattalakis appears -- a dragon slayer trapped between two worlds -- claims to hold the key to solving the tapestry’s mysteries. Channon follows him into a fantastic alternate world of magic, danger, and adventure.

Teaser...

Sebastian ran his tongue over his teeth as a sly half-smile curved his lips.  A practical woman who didn't believe in dragons yet studied dragon tapestries and wore a misbuttoned shirt.  Surely there wasn't another soul like her in any time or place.  And she had the strangest effect on his body.  (Kindle location 168)

I'm backtracking in this series.  Well it's a spin-off so it's not the very beginning.  But I have got stuck in this world and I'm completely captured.  I'm a huge shifter fan.  This series has all kinds of shifters.  A dragon for Sebastian.  I do love that name.  What a fun little story this is too.  A quick fun read.

Have you read any of this series?  It's a good one.

Danger and passion fuse in this electrifying GhostWalker novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan.

GhostWalker Rubin Campo’s rough upbringing made him into the man he is today: strong, steadfast and wary of outsiders. When he and his brother return to their family’s homestead in the Appalachian Mountains, he can immediately sense that a stranger has taken up residence in their cabin—a woman who just happens to be a GhostWalker too.

Jonquille looks deceptively delicate but is clearly a fighter. She also doesn’t seem to care that Rubin could kill her where she stands. She sought him out, wanting to connect on their shared interest in electrical charges. As one of the first failed GhostWalker experiments, Jonquille can produce lightning with her body—but she can’t control it.

Their connection is magnetic, their abilities in sync. Rubin knows she’s his match, the answer to a lifetime of pain and intense loneliness. But Jonquille came to him with hidden intentions, ones that threaten to destroy their bond before it can truly begin.…

Available March 2, 2021 from Berkley

Teaser...

Very gently, he framed her face with both palms, looking down into her eyes. Rubin found her eyes sexy, ethereal, intriguing. She seemed mysterious, like the fairies in the stories he told his sisters who moved between worlds. (Kindle location 1299)

I very much enjoyed this newest edition to the Ghostwalker series!  Jonquille and Rubin are a great couple and the dynamics of their relationship add a lot to the series arc storyline was intriguing.  Have you read this series?

It was a story that couldn’t possibly be true: Identical twins, separated at birth. Anna Drury wouldn’t have believed it, but the woman standing before her was physically alike her in every way…and held in her hands a keepsake baby bracelet, the same as Anna had. How could it be?

Anna—with her tall, strong husband and two adorable children, grew up loved and secure, and she freely opens her heart to others, so she embraces the idea of her new-found sister, Amelia. Everyone tells Anna to tread carefully, but Amelia is family, she sees it in the other woman’s face and knows it in the depth of her soul. And family should always be welcome.

Once the shock settles and the dust clears, the sisters learn about each other as they unravel the secrets of their past and separation. Anna wants to believe that life with her new-found sister will be perfect, but just as they are bonding in a special way, Amelia reveals the true reason for their reunion. Her kidneys are failing, and Anna could be her perfect match.

But if Anna agrees to her request it might threaten everything she holds dear, her marriage, her health…even her life. Faced with this dilemma, Anna must ask herself a hard question, how far will she go to help her twin, the woman who is her other half…and a woman she doesn’t really know?

Teaser...

A roller-coaster car slid into place and the automatic bars raised, allowing the current passengers to disembark on the opposite side of the platform.  Next to the roller coaster was a carousel, playing oompah-pah organ music as the colorfully painted horses bobbed up and down on their poles.  Amelia wished they were going on that ride.  Something nice and sedate.
"Maybe we could go on that instead?"
"Oh, you!" Anna laughed and guided her into the front car.  "The carousel is too slow paced even for Logan.  Take a walk on the wild side, sister."  (Page 173)

I think I prefer the carousel as well.  But it looks like a wild ride is happening anyway.

What happens when your love life becomes the talk of the town?

As birthdays go, this year’s for radio producer Everly Dean hit rock-bottom.

Worse than the “tonsillectomy birthday.” Worse than the birthday her parents decided to split (the first time). But catching your boyfriend cheating on you with his assistant?

Even clichés sting.

But this is Everly’s year! She won’t let her anxiety hold her back. She’ll pitch her podcast idea to her boss.

There’s just one problem.

Her boss, Chris, is very cute. (Of course). Also, he's extremely distant (which means he hates her, right? Or is that the anxiety talking)?

And, Stacey the DJ didn’t mute the mic during Everly’s rant about Simon the Snake (syn: Cheating Ex).

That’s three problems.

Suddenly, people are lining up to date her, Bachelorette-style, fans are voting (Reminder: never leave house again), and her interest in Chris might be a two-way street. It’s a lot for a woman who could gold medal in people-avoidance. She’s going to have to fake it ‘till she makes it to get through all of this.

Perhaps she’ll make a list: The Ten Rules for Faking It.

Because sometimes making the rules can find you happiness when you least expect it.

Teaser...

The phone hadn't stopped ringing since Everly's detailed confession. What the hell kind of idiot would cheat on that woman? He thought of his father and cringed. On any woman. But especially someone like Everly. She was five and a half feet of pure awesome, and maybe he didn't tell her that--he had no right--but the guys in this town couldn't be stupid enough not to realize it on their own.

I'm not super far into this one yet, but I already love the characters and I'm super excited about it!

Zarek’s Point of View:

Dark-Hunter: A soulless guardian who stands between mankind and those who would see mankind destroyed. Yeah, right. The only part of that Code of Honor I got was eternity and solitude.

Insanity: A condition many say I suffer from after being alone for so long. But I don’t suffer from my insanity-I enjoy every minute of it.

Trust: I can’t trust anyone…not even myself. The only thing I trust in is my ability to do the wrong thing in any situation and to put a hurt on anyone who gets in my way.

Truth: I endured a lifetime as a Roman slave, and 900 years as an exiled Dark-Hunter. Now I’m tired of enduring. I want the truth about what happened the night I was exiled-I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Astrid (Greek, meaning star): An exceptional woman who can see straight to the truth. Brave and strong, she is a point of light in the darkness. She touches me and I tremble. She smiles and my cold heart shatters.

Zarek: They say even the most damned man can be forgiven. I never believed that until the night Astrid opened her door to me and made this feral beast want to be human again. Made me want to love and be loved. But how can an ex-slave whose soul is owned by a Greek goddess ever dream of touching, let alone holding, a fiery star?

Teaser...

Ash gave a sinister half-laugh.  "She can do as she pleases.  I taught her to waste not, want not."
Simi paused and lifted her head up from her list to snort at Artemis.  "The Simi is very environmentally sound. Eat everything except for hooves. I don’t like those, they hurt my teeth."  She looked at Ash.  "Thanatos don’t have hooves, do he?"
"No, Simi, he doesn’t."
"Ooo, good eating tonight. I get a Daimon for barbecue. Can I go now, akri? Can I? Can I? Can I, please?”   (Kindle location 141)

Simi is a familiar demon that is a campaign to Ash.  She's childlike but very dangerous.  And funny.  She's really funny.  She dislikes Artemis...a lot.  Artemis feels the same.  I enjoyed Simi's character very much.

As for the book, I loved Zarek much more than I was expecting to.  He definitely won me over.

Have you read this series?  So enjoying it.

The bestselling author of the Dead Is… series is back with a snarky, hilarious take on the vampire romance novel.

When my best friend Skyler told me about this party in the Hollywood Hills, I was less than enthused. As it turned out, my feelings were more than justified. That party ruined my life.

Tansy didn’t even want to go to the party. It’s hard enough living in one of your best friend’s shadows and secretly in love with your other best friend.

And now she’s leaving it a vampire.

Now her best friend Skyler is stuck on the road trip from hell, on tour as a groupie with a literal band of vamps. Tansy sets out with Vaughn, her other BFF turned maybe more, to save Skylar’s life and take down the band. But when they find themselves in the middle of a vampire war, will Tansy be able to make the ultimate sacrifice to save her friends?

Marlene Perez is the author of paranormal and urban fantasy books, including the best-selling DEAD IS series for teens. The first book in the series, DEAD IS THE NEW BLACK, was named an ALA Quick Pick for Reluctant Young Adult Readers as well as an ALA Popular Paperback. The first three books in the series have been optioned by Disney for television. She lives in Orange County, California with her husband and children. www.marleneperez.com.

Available February 2, 2021 from Entangled Teen

Teaser...

"I can hear you being all judgy over there," I said.  "Cut it out."
"I'm not being judgy," Vaughn said.  "It's just that--"
I cut him off.  "Your best friend broke her."
"Con didn't break her," Vaughn said.  "He broke up with her." (Page 27)

Bride McTierney has had it with men. They're cheap, self-centered, and never love her for who she is. But though she prides herself on being independent, deep down she still yearns for a knight in shining armor.

She just never expected her knight in shining armor to have a shiny coat of fur...

Deadly and tortured, Vane Kattalakis isn't what he seems. Most women lament that their boyfriends are dogs. In Bride's case, hers is a wolf. A Were-Hunter wolf. Wanted dead by his enemies, Vane isn't looking for a mate. But the Fates have marked Bride as his. Now he has three weeks to either convince Bride that the supernatural is real or he will spend the rest of his life neutered—something no self-respecting wolf can accept...

But how does a wolf convince a human to trust him with her life when his enemies are out to end his? In the world of the Were-Hunters, it really is dog-eat-dog. And only one alpha male can win.

Teaser...

“So let me see if I got everything straight … This … means that we are somehow meant to be husband and wife. But if I refuse you, you spend the rest of your life impotent and alone? But I, on the other hand, am free to live my life however I see fit?”
He nodded.
“It really sucks to be you, doesn’t it?” (Night Play)

This is the first book I've read by this author and I was definitely stuck in this book.  I bought a bunch more in this series after reading this one.  It's an interesting situation that Vane finds himself in.  I very much enjoyed the story.  Have you read this author?

Today sucked, I admitted, opening my eyes to look at him.
I think a lot of days are doing to suck this week, he answered, his dark eyes studying me.
I huffed out a breath.  But we're together. (Kindle location 3985)
Ahh...these two together are just so amazing.  And this book has some incredible moments between them, this one in wolf form.  But it also has a shocking end that has you impatiently waiting for Legacy, book 3.

Have you read this series?  You should.  It's so good.
